Moomba Festival
To be held on the 9th until the 12th day of March, this largest community festival in Melbourne will be celebrated right in time for the Labour Day Weekend at the Alexa Gardens. It offers free events and activities that will make you become more familiar with this wonderful city. It is a perfect event to celebrate with the entire family and enjoy carnival rides and nightly fireworks coupled with extreme fun through water sports activities. Highlighting the event are the Moomba Masters Championship, the Birdman Rally, and the Moomba Parade.
Zoo Twilights
Whether you want to have a picnic with your friends and family or you want to drink wine under the night sky, the Zoo Twilights will be a perfect holiday getaway for you and your loved ones. An event currently held at Melbourne Zoo which kicked off on the 26th of January, you will still have time to catch up on the festivities until 10th of March. Melbourne Queer Film Festival
This event will be held from the 15th to the 26th of March to showcase different films that you should watch out for. Also part of the film offerings for this year’s Melbourne Queer Film Festival is BPM which was declared the winner of the Grand Jury Prize in the Cannes Film Festival of 2017.
Melbourne Food and Wine Festival
A festival which will be held on a ten-day run from March 16th to 25th, this event is a celebration of the food and wine industries in Australia. Among some of the events to look forward to during the festival are the Flemington Grazing Trail and Cellar Door 2018, 10K Gourmet, All American Vegan Dinner, and the Armadale Cellars Shiraz Challenge. Run for the Kids
Sponsored by The Herald and CityLink, Run for the Kids is a one-day event which will be held on the 18th of March. This is a community event with a cause which aims to raise funds for the Royal Children’s Hospital Good Friday Appeal. The Appeal actually originated in 1931 and since then, The Herald has already been part of it. The event is the single biggest contributor to this program of the Royal Children’s Hospital.
Melbourne International Garden and Flower Show
Celebrate autumn days in Melbourne with this show which will be held from March 21st to 25th at the Royal Exhibition and Carlton Gardens. This is the 23rd of the annual autumn show which highlights the talents of landscapists and florists coming from all of Australia. It is a show that celebrates Australian lifestyle and its great outdoors.
